Portrait: Oil on canvas. Rojelio, French, Jewish philosopher. Sometimes it is the painting & not the painter that decides when a painting is finished. This impromptu composition (he was visiting when we decided spontaneously to start the painting) painted over another unfinished painting, whispered to me: "If you bring this painting to higher finish it will lose its almost 'kinetic' strength" & so now Rojelio is dead, the painting still feels alive to me... 105cm x 60cm (42in x 24in)
